Application Specialist / Technical Product Trainer based in Europe – ACS International

Position Summary
We are a motivated, multinational team of IP experts, technical trainers and qualified scientists. As a Customer Success Specialist, you provide pre- and post-sale technical training and product consulting to users of CAS scientific and IP information solutions (e.g., CAS SciFinder, CAS IP Finder, powered by STN) across EMEA and worldwide. You are accountable for preparing and delivering training materials across various formats for user meetings, conferences, customer visits, and virtual sessions, and for driving growth, retention, cross-selling, and customer penetration through your product and services expertise.
Job Duties
- Providing technical product demonstrations and training for customers and internal staff
- Development and design of customized training materials to meet customer needs and highlight product features by explaining and demonstrating search techniques using tailored examples
- Creation and delivery of technical instructions and demonstrations for pre- and post-sale support, workshops, user meetings, technical conferences, and remote or in-person customer meetings
- Evaluation of customer information needs and matching them to appropriate products and services in close collaboration with sales
- Gathering customer feedback on products, services, or policies and communicating this information to internal partners such as product development and sales
Job Requirements
- Language Proficiency: excellent command of English and French; proficiency in additional European languages is highly desirable.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in natural science with a strong foundation in chemistry and associated disciplines; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Preferred Expertise: Specialization in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biological Drug Discovery or Material Science.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Exceptional ability to present complex scientific concepts, communicate product content effectively, and address inquiries with confidence.
- Technical & Industry Expertise: Proven experience in supporting scientific and intellectual property solutions, with a strong ability to articulate application-specific value propositions addressing user challenges.
- Preferred Experience: Familiarity with scientific information solutions such as CAS SciFinder or CASIP Finder, powered by STN.
- AI savviness: Leverage AI to enhance daily workflows, understand its role in CAS solutions, and clearly convey its value to customers.
- Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively within Europe.
